The harsh realities of their socioeconomic background, or their dogmatic, limiting ideologies (circles of certainty), have left certain people and their lives "domesticated." It is our task (as critical educators) to show these people that anything is possible: to liberate them from the confines of a degrading human life and perceived reality, and to deliver and develop them into more self-actualized human beings.
Our oppressors are sometimes external from us, and sometimes they live in our heads.
