Hope & Service to Mankind Foundation (Hope for Rural Dwellers) is a
Voluntary, Non-profit, Charitable, Social, Non-political,
Non-governmental, Inter-faith and Welfare Organization Registered in
Ghana Under section 27 and 28 of 1963 Companies Code (Act 179) with
registration number G-35, 853.
Hope & Service to Mankind Foundation's vision is to build a healthy and prosperous society based on gender equality and equity in every walk of life. They do this by improving the lives
of the disadvantaged through education, economic, and social development
programs. They share a vision of a world where all forms of
disability can be integrated, and in which the
rights of people with disabilities are respected and applied. They believe in gender equality and equity regardless of race, color, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital or veteran status.
Their mission is committed to serving humankind by providing the basic amenities of life to the helpless and needy people of all communities. They help educate those who rarely go to school in Ghana: women, people with disabilities, and many illiterate adult males. They provide these people with knowledge, job skills, and wider competencies. This education is provided for free to the disadvantaged.
This foundation especially aims to correct the position of women in African society. Supporting and educating women, equipping them with marketable skills for sustainable life, and creating alternative income generating activities, are a few more of their goals. They give assistance to deprive communities, individuals, and institutions, through effective provision of counseling and information.
Another way they help is by bringing literate and non-literate towns, villages, and people
with common respect for each other, together to work.
Working together promotes and encourages the spirit
of voluntarism among the youth, and among people of all communities. Organizing worksites focused on structural improvement projects, training farms, leadership and literacy workshops, camp activities, and international cultural
exchange programs, have helped them be effective in achieving their aims for society.
Hope & Service to Mankind Foundation simultaneously provides a platform for international students and volunteers to be involved in group educational activities that focus on issues related to intercultural communication, community development, and international development. The foundation does this while creating the aforementioned community development projects, by teaching the African way of life (family, cooking, and dressing), drumming, dancing, etc. to volunteers and exchange students, as they work together on community projects.
From all of these many activities together, Hope for Rural Dwellers is Born!
